Bible Study

I started a new bible study a couple of months ago. It's a Beth Moore study on the book of Daniel. So far it has been amazing! I'm doing the bible study with the same group of girls that I did my last one with, and they are amazing!!
This group of women have become so special to me. It is so nice to be around Godly, wise, funny, humble, and fun women! We pray for each other, laugh together, worship together, and study the word together.
We recently had a 'bible study retreat'. We stayed at a women's house that is on the market, but no one is living there. We kind of all popped in and out all weekend. We watched movies, ate yummy food, went shopping, went to dinner, got manicures, went to church, and talked talked talked! It was awesome!!
I don't know what I would do without these amazing ladies!

Sisters

Addyson just wrote this note to Katelyn last week and I thought it was soooo sweet! They really are best friends, most of the time...ha!

Upcoming Projects

Well, we are about to take on the biggest project around the house yet...the landscaping. We have done some things here and there like trimming trees or cutting down trees. We knew right away that this project was way too big to do on our own. We had several landscape designers out here to look around and give us feedback. We finally hired a lady and are super excited to get started. We have had several meetings to go over drawings and ideas. We are now at the stage of getting bids from different companies to start the work. We are going to get some stone half walls put in along the driveway, widen/change the path to the front door, tear out and re-do the back patio and add a sunken fire pit, tear out and re-do the master courtyard, add lighting throughout, and just spruce up all the flower beds. This is phase one. Phase two will be raised vegetable gardens and some cool things for the kids! We are also going to freshen up the powder bathrooms with new sinks and toilets (we haven't done anything to any of the bathrooms since we moved in so they need a facelift)!!! Tackling the master bathroom and the kids bathrooms will be later down the road, hopefully. Home ownership...always projects to be done!
Here's a pic of the girls having a picnic in the un-landscaped yard...ha!!

Easter 2014

The pastor at our church asked members to come to either of the Saturday night services, if we could, instead of the Sunday services. So we went to the Saturday night Easter service. It was a little different, but it worked out great. We have been attending the Saturday service anyway, so the kids were used to it. It was a great service and I was so happy to see so many people get saved!

This freed up Sunday to just hang out as a family. It was awesome!! The weather was gorgeous and we hung out outside most of the day! Jason started a project in the garage, I assembled a picnic table that my mom got for Nolan's birthday, and the kids played and played some more! Then it was baths for everyone and a nice dinner! Easter 2014 was fantastic!

Petting Zoo

On Good Friday, Jason had the day off of work so we decided to drive to the petting zoo! The kids and I have season passes, but Jason had never been. The weather was nice, and all of the animals seemed to be out and lively. We got to see a monkey close up, a kangaroo with a Joey in her belly (if you look closely at the pic of the kangaroo you can see the baby's foot sticking out of her pouch), and we got to hear the lions roar!

Science Museum

Katelyn had a field trip with her class to the Science Museum. I couldn't find a babysitter so we had to bring Nolan along too! I knew he wouldn't tolerate sitting in the stroller the whole time, so I had to let him free. He was a wild man....running everywhere and into everything. Kate and Nolan had a great time!! At the end of the morning we got to see a cool show in the planetarium.

Christmas!!

My mom came in this year for Christmas! It was so great to have her here. Because we were flying to Texas on Christmas Day this year, things were a bit different. We had our 'big meal on the 23rd since we had church on Christmas Eve. We tried to keep it simple because we knew we couldn't really eat many leftovers since we would be in Texas.

We went to church on Christmas Eve. After we came home we let the kids open one gift (pajamas and a small toy) and we read from the Bible as well as 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. We set out cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. The kids were excited as could be!!
After the kids fell asleep Santa came and left great gifts for the kids!! Addyson got a Barbie camper, Katelyn got a Bitty Baby, and Nolan got a kitchen with a grill and pizza oven. They must have been good this year!!
Jason and I were startled awake at 3 am when Addyson and Katelyn were standing at our bed telling us what Santa had brought. We tried to put them in bed with us but that didn't work so they ended up on the couch watching Christmas movies. Kate fell asleep for a bit, but Addy never did :(  So at 6am I woke up to find them both playing with the toys Santa brought. Little sneaks....
We woke Mimi up so she wouldn't miss the action. Shortly after Nolan and Daddy got up to join the fun!
And this is the aftermath of present opening....a sad state of affairs! After I took this picture, we cleaned everything up, got dressed, and headed to the airport for our flight to Texas! Look at this cutie on the plane...
It was a great Christmas for the de Wolfe family. We have so much to be thankful for!!
