The driveway is finished!!! Hallelujah! What a project it was. We will be so happy in the winter to have this heated driveway. We did not get the top, flat part heated, so we will still have to do a little bit of shoveling, but nothing major (and no sloped part). Can't wait to drive the car up the driveway again!!!

Pouring the Concrete
The crew came out on Saturday to pour the concrete. All of the heating elements are complete (except the control parts that haven't arrived yet). Now we just have to wait 10-14 days (from Saturday) for it to dry completely. We can walk on it now, but no driving on it. That means I am still parking at the bottom and hauling everything up...uggh!

Disaster
Our Labor Day Vacation turned out to be a disaster. We booked a last minute trip to a cabin in West Virgina. Jason had taken Friday (before Labor Day) and the Tuesday after off. We were going to head down to WV, stay 3 days, 2 nights in a cabin on a creek in the middle of the woods. We were so excited about cooking some great food and hanging out as a family. Addy woke up the day before our trip, Saturday, vomiting profusely. She vomited for about 15 hours straight, sometimes three times in one hour. We hoped it was a 24 hour bug and we would be good to go on Sunday for our trip. On Sunday morning, she was not vomiting, but running a major fever. We gave her some Motrin and Tylenol intermittently and prayed for the best. About an hour before we were supposed to leave for our trip she perked right up. She got off of the couch, started packing toys and movies for the cabin, and was jumping around in excitement. So, we made the decision to go through with the trip. After a short, two hour, drive, we arrived at our cabin. Instead of exploring around Addy took to the couch and didn't move. Jason and I unloaded everything out of the car and got everything set up in the cabin. Addy was not acting herself at all. She was freezing cold. We had to start the fireplace in the cabin for her. She went to sleep for over an hour. She woke up crying and unwilling to do/try anything. She was burning hot! So....we had to pack everything back into the car, including the two crying children, and head back home. So much for a vacation and two pre-paid nights!!! It was a miserable drive home because both girls were crying. At one point, all THREE de Wolfe girls were crying. I was so sad for Jason because he NEVER takes a day off of work, and he has been working so incredibly hard that he really needed this time away. He was so good and so patient with all of this. We made it home, got both girls in bed, got everything unloaded, dinner made for us, and off to bed. It was a miserable Labor Day, but at least we made it home safely and Addy got better (after 5 days of resting on the couch and not eating much at all). We look forward to another vacation...someday!!!
PS- look how sick Addy looks in the video, she totally lies about being 'good', and at the end she finally asks me, "Why are you taking a picture of me?" Like, Mom- I'm sick, what are you doing???
Katelyn
My little Katie Reese is growing up so fast. I remember when Addy was a baby, I was so caught up in the milestones and if she did them on time or not. I snatched her bottle away and pacifier away when the books and doctors tell you to. I did everything 'by the book'. With Kate, I am so much more relaxed about it all. So I feel like she is more of a 'baby' at 13 months than Addy was, but I am fine with it!!! Plus, she is a little more spoiled than Addy was since she has never been to daycare (what I mean is she gets what she wants when she wants, doesn't have to share or wait, has me all to herself, etc.). We may have to put her in some sort of facility soon for a couple of hours here and there. She is WAY too attached to me. She is almost walking now. She walks holding onto furniture and fingers. She says: mama, dada, addy, night night (ni ni), all done (although it is not that clear), ball, baby, bye bye, hi, uh oh, and wow (not sure why she says wow). She seems to understand a whole lot more now when you talk to her. She gives you a kiss when you ask her to and she goes to find her ball and her baby when you ask her to. She feeds her baby her 'milk' and puts her baby's pacifier in...too cute!! I am really enjoying my one-on-one time with Katelyn now that Addy is in school. She is actually able to get a word in edge wise without big sister here!!! My little Katie Reese....not so little anymore!

Sick, sick, sick...
We have had one sickly household since Saturday. Addy has been super sick with 24 hours of vomiting, 48 hours of fever, and going on day 5 of a stomach ache and not eating. I keep waiting for it to run its course, but if she is not better by this afternoon, we will go the pediatrician. Now that she has no fever and no vomiting, I just feel silly taking her in, but this has gone on long enough. Jason went to bed last night not feeling well. He is weak and sweating and running a low grade fever. We shall see. Kate has a runny nose. I am hanging in there strong (don't know how long I will last though) trying to take care of my sick family! I miss outside, sunlight, fresh air, and WORKING OUT!!!!
