We decided on Saturday morning to take a last minute trip out to a cabin, that we have been to twice before, in West Virgina. It was a rainy and cold Saturday and we thought a family night together would be fun. We spent the morning packing and preparing and then we headed out around 11 am. When we got there, Addy wanted to get right into the hot tub. We unloaded everything and got settled. Then I put the girls in their swim suits, got mine on, and we got right into the hot tub. It was 100 degrees and I thought Kate would put one toe in and scream. She couldn't get enough of it. She was fearless! Addy was happy to be in water that she could stand up in all by herself. The hot tub started turning off repeatedly. We finally figured out that the breaker was tripping because it was raining so hard. We ended up getting out and heading inside for a movie and a snack. The girls got their warm cozy p.j.'s on and got their blankets, snacks, and settled in for movie time. After the movie, Addy convinced her Daddy to take her back into the hot tub, but it continued to shut off so they got out after the temperature dropped to 85 degrees. After that Jason started to get things ready for dinner. He grilled hamburgers and made home made potato salad. I made the girls macaroni and cheese. We played a couple of games together that Addy picked out from home to bring. Addy and Jason ate some peanuts on the porch (you can tell from the picture that Kate wanted to join them really badly). After supper the girls watched another movie and then it was time for bed. We tried Kate and Addy in the same bed together and that didn't work. We put Kate in the pack n' play and Addy in the bed in the same room and they did great.....until 3 am! Jason and I could here from where we were sleeping, in the loft, laughing and talking at 3 in the morning. We ended up switching beds. Addy came up and slept with Jason and I went down and slept with Katelyn. After we all settled back in we slept fine the rest of the night. I made a big breakfast on Sunday morning. The rain that had been falling all night long quickly turned to snow and we were worried we would get stranded in the snow, so we put it in high gear and packed up and headed out (girls in their pajamas and all)! It was a great family get-a-way. I am so glad we did it! Can't wait for the next family trip!!
