Some more pictures...

Here are some more pictures of house renovations. Sorry...this is our life right now!

Construction Zone...

So we are in a full force construction zone at the new house. It looks SO different already! When we first bought the house it looked like a house that was totally 'livable' but needed updating. Now, it is not livable at all....kind of sad! But progress is being made. We now have HOT water!!! We have almost all of the old hardwood flooring out of the house. We will begin laying the new flooring next week sometime. We should have air conditioning and furnaces this week. We should have new carpeting coming soon. Our new island has been ordered. The painting continues! The work never ends, but we can see progress. Jason is taking a few days off of work this next week, and his dad and mom are here to help out so we should see some improvements. We have been meeting a LOT of neighbors because we have been taking Addyson to the bus stop everyday and everyone has been SO nice. Everyone seems to be happy that someone finally bought the place and is willing to put in all the work that it needs. It also appears that everyone has seen the house (apparently there was an open house where all the neighbors toured the house), loves it, but didn't want to do all the work that was needed to get it "up to par". HA! Guess we are the big fools that took on all the work. But we keep telling ourselves, it will sure pay off in the end!!!! Here are some pictures from today. I am hoping the pictures for next week will look very different. We shall see....

First day of school...

Well, Addy went to bed with a fever of 102.2 and woke up with fever still. She is off to the doctor today at 2 pm. She missed her first day of first grade. I don't want to think about it or I will cry. We are making the neat of it. But Kate still had her first day of pre-school. She was ready to go! Here are a couple of pictures of Kate before school.

Meant to be...

So we obviously prayed about getting this new house sooooooo much. Then when we could never close on the house we started to feel like maybe it wasn't "meant to be". We ended up giving them a deadline and they met the deadline with one hour to spare. As we drove home from the closing at Howard Hannah, we see this sign at the Bingo place by our house. It was not meant for us (we think it was for a wedding they had there), but we thought it was like a "sign" for us!!!! We just had to stop and take a picture.

New House Renovations...

Well, we finally closed on the new house and starting working right away. The sooner we get everything done, the sooner we can move in. The house was really neglected by the previous owner and then sat vacant for a while, so we have a lot of work to do. Jason began clearing branches, shrubs, and trees. I started painting. Jason removed the island from the kitchen and the wet bar from the family room. I painted Addy's room, Kate's room, the dining room, and Nolan's room. Jason and Debbie have removed the carpet in the formal living room, dining room, and office. Larry, the hardwood flooring guy, came today to begin removing all the hardwood flooring. He also started taking out the backsplash. He was able to remove the old refrigerator and dishwasher. The HVAC guy is coming Wednesday to start work on getting new air conditioners, furnaces, and hot water heaters. All of our new appliances are in, but we can't get them in the house until the new flooring is laid down. The granite is in and ready, but we are waiting on the new island in the kitchen and the flooring before the granite can be put in. We need a new roof, but are still getting some estimates on that. We have a LONG way to go, but we are making progress. This has been quite a trying time. Hopefully it will all pay off in the end. Thank goodness Debbie has been here to help out. She has been meeting contractors at the house, running errands, organizing paperwork, hauling tree branches into piles, painting hardware, pulling out carpet, and she even got on the tractor and mowed the yard!!! We are hoping to be moved into the house and living there by the end of October. We know not everything will be done, by any means, but as long at the new flooring is in and the kitchen is functioning, we are ready to get in there!!! We feel blessed and excited about this new opportunity for our family. The girls are loving running around and helping out with tasks. They love all the deer and birds we see. We are even going to get a dog soon so they are stoked about that. They have been asking for a dog forever!! We cannot wait to get all settled in. Right now life is CRAZY, but exciting!! I will leave you with some pictures!
