Poor Katie Reese...
Katelyn woke up Sunday morning with a dry sounding cough and a runny nose. I assumed it was a cold but kept her home from church just in case. Monday she didn't seem any better and her breathing was starting to sound worse. Today her breathing was even worse and more 'raspy' and shallow so we went to the doctor. She ended up having croup and a double ear infection. He said that if her breathing were to get any worse, we should head to the ER. He gave her a steroid shot and a Rx for a liquid steroid to reduce the inflammation and allow her to breathe easier. We also got a Rx for an antibiotic for her ear infections. I felt awful because ever since she was 'cleared' of her airway/vocal cord issues, I haven't really thought about it. She will always be more susceptible to these types of things, and I have to be cognisant of that from now on. The doctor gave us instructions of what to look for as far as labored breathing or 'belly breathing' so that we will know if we need to take her to the ER. So far so good. She stayed up an hour and a half past her bedtime...I think she was wired from the steroids. We have had our ears glued to the monitor to listen for her and I am fighting back all urges to make a pallet next to her bed to listen to her breathing! My poor Katelyn...she is such a trooper!

The snow is back...
Here is the view from our porch this afternoon. We are getting dumped with snow! We saw people parking at the bottom and walking up (in their work clothes...poor people). Jason made it home thank goodness. He slid everywhere, fishtailed, and nearly fell off the side of the driveway, but he is home safe. Snow, you are pretty, but I didn't miss you!

Sisters
The girls love getting their pictures taken now. When I ask if I can take their picture they both just plop down and wait. Kate usually won't smile, but hey at least she is still. Then what is so hilarious is that they both run over to the camera to view their picture. Kate always says, "baby". Too funny! Addy was trying to show her braid off in this picture. These girls are hilarious!
Addy's Valentine's Party
Addy had a Valentine's party at one of her schools on Thursday. Addy wanted to wear a dress for her party and then Kate kept doing gestures until finally I asked her, "do you want to wear a dress too?" She immediately started shaking her head yes and ran to her closet. So we picked her out a dress and she was happy. We went to the gym after getting dressed and Kate was so proud of the way she looked! When we walked into the Kid Zone at the gym she was holding her dress out on the sides and twirling around to show off for all the workers....hilarious! And of course she was so happy because they made a huge deal over how cute she looked. She is a riot! I got a babysitter for Kate that afternoon because I was one of the mom's in charge of the Valentine's Party (and the last party I did with Kate there was not so great). So Addy and I headed to her party and had a great time filled with laughs, books, games, crafts, and of course snacks and candy!!

Here we go Steelers, here we go!
This was the scene after the Steelers scored the last touchdown. We thought it was going to lead to a come back, but no such luck!
Watching the Steelers Game...
Before game time...
Jason wanted Addy and I to do our hair alike and take a couple pictures together (mind you-I have only done my hair like this one other time and it was for the last Steelers game that they won, so I thought it would bring good luck). Jason kept trying to get a shot of just the two of us, but Kate was determined to get in the shot. Too funny!!!
