New Bike

My little Addy girl finally got a real bike. I am embarrased to even post this because most 5 year olds know how to ride a bike, but we have a driveway situation. We have been holding off on getting Addyson a bike because our driveway is SUPER steep. We finally decided we had waited long enough. Jason took Addy on Saturday and she picked out a super cute Barbie bike. It even has a little spot for Barbie to ride along with you.

More Updates

These are the current pics of the basement. The painting is done! The stonework is halfway done on the bar. The ottoman arrived and the end table arrived. The couch and matching chair should arrive October 12th....yeah!! Everything seems to be really coming to an end! We are so happy!

Progress in the Basement....

We are making some progress in our basement remodel. We are nearing the end...thank goodness! The hardwood floors are done, the paint is almost done, the trim is in, the bathroom and entryway have tile and some grout, and the new bathroom sink/cabinet is in! The bar needs to be built and then all the little details need to be finished, and then we are DONE! Everything looks better than we could have imagined! I have a feeling this will be our new favorite room of the house!

Addy's First Day of School...

Addy's first day of school was a big success! She loved every minute of it! As you can see, Kate had to be VERY much a part of the experience!

Boston Trip

Jason and I had an AMAZING trip to Boston at the beginning of September! We loved every minute of it! Our reason for the trip was to see the Texas Rangers play at Fenway, get a private tour of Fenway, and attend a question/answer/luncheoun with Michael Young (player for the Tx Rangers), but we also got to do two days of walking/touring Boston! We absolutely fell in love with the city and the history. Here are a few of the pics....we can't wait to go back!!!

Out of Order...

Sorry about the following posts. You have to scroll down to read the 'Chopped Night' first before reading 'Results for Chopped Night'. Sorry about the mix up....

Results of our Chopped Night!

Justin made a bed of rice with the rainbow trout baked and cut up on top of the rice. He used the prunes to make a sauce for the rice/fish dish (Sorry Justin...I can't remember what else was in that sauce). He also made a delicious potato soup with the remaining ingredients (the cucumber water and kohlrabi). The soup was awesome!
Jason made fish tacos. He crusted the rainbow trout and cooked it. He used corn tortillas and made a parsley mayonnaise sauce. He pickled the kohlrabi for us to use inside the fish tacos. He made a drink with the cucumber water and rum. He also infused the prune in Coke and put it over vanilla ice cream for dessert. The fist tacos were a real winner!
Janae and I decided that they both did an amazing job. We liked Jason's fish tacos best, but it was a tough call because using one of the ingredients in a drink was questionable!
What a fun, fun night! We must do it again!!

Chopped Night

So our super creative friends, Justin and Janae, held a 'Chopped Night' at their house. Janae and I went to the grocery store and picked out four main ingredients that they would have to use to create a meal. We then called them and told them what the ingredients were and told them they had 10 minutes to come up with a list of things they needed from the store to make their meal. After we got their requested items, we checked out and headed home to watch the masters in the kitchen!! The four main ingredients (in the first photo) were: rainbow trout, cucumber rosemary water, giant French prunes, and kohlrabi (which is similar to a German cabbage). The guys did amazing! They prepped and cooked for about an hour and then plated their meals for Janae and I to judge. See the next post for the results!!!

More Pics...

Here are some more pictures from Sesame Place...fun times!!!

Elmo's World

Inside of Sesame Place they put on a show called Elmo's World. The set was made to look like the show. It was very cute. Addy got to dance on stage with Elmo. Kate danced in her seat!

Sesame Place

We took the girls to Langhorne, PA to an amusement park called Sesame Place. It is like Six Flags, but it is ALL about Sesame Street and the characters. They had a blast!!! Kate was scared to meet the characters, but Addy posed with them for pictures. They both rode all the rides they were allowed to ride. Addyson's favorite was the roller coaster. Kate liked the Merry go Round the best!
