Appliances

We got our new appliances. It really was like Christmas morning when they came. I was so paranoid about them scratching our new wood floors, but they were extra careful putting down ply wood and cardboard and moving blankets everywhere. We need to do some trim work and touch ups in places because the size of the old appliances don't quite match up with the new ones, but here is a preview. The cooktop and wine refrigerator were not able to be installed because our cabinets/countertops are not installed yet. And the sinks/faucets will be installed when the granite countertops are installed. One thing at a time, but it sure is looking better!

Painting, painting, and more painting...

So I am like a professional painter at this point! Ha! I have painted: Addyson's room, Katelyn's room, Nolan's room, the game room, the dining room, the kitchen, the breakfast room, the butler's pantry, the foyer, the upstairs hallway and stairwell, the downstairs hallways, the kitchen, and the master bedroom! Woah...that seems like a lot when you type it all out! We got scaffolding today to help out with all the 20+ foot walls. I still have the formal living, family room, laundry room, two powder baths, and tall parts of the breakfast room, kitchen, and master to do! We are nearing the end on the painting though. I think we have blazed through 22 gallons of paint so far. I know it has saved us a ton of money to do this ourselves, but boy will I be glad to be done painting. So the ultimate LOW, was when I went to Subway the other day to get a sandwich (wearing my painting clothes) and I got asked which construction company I worked for! HA! Here are a couple painting pictures. I plan on doing a room by room before and after shot for the whole house at some point, but here are just a few.

Buddies

These two have become fast buddies while Addyson is gone all day at school. Katelyn comes up with new ways to make him smile and giggle all the time!

Updates on the house renovations...

Well, we are getting more and more done at the new house. I am wearing myself out by going over at night and painting. I am painting every square inch of the house, so it is a LOT to paint. Jason has been doing a lot of outside tasks like mowing, trimming back trees, power washing/cleaning, sealing the concrete, mowing, and more mowing!!! The hardwood flooring is really coming along. I am so excited each day to see how far the hardwood flooring guy got with the new floors. Today he got the entire hallway off the foyer done and the pantry done. I still have several more rooms to paint, but I am hoping to get a lot done while my mom is here to help out with the kids. Now that dance and piano have started it is getting harder and harder for me to squeeze in time for packing or working on the new house. We are so excited to get in there, but we want to get as much done before "moving in" as we can. Jason found a snake in the basement yesterday. He thought it was the HVAC guy playing a trick on him with a rubber snake. Then the snake starting flicking its tongue in and out. SCARY (for me)! I know it will be the first of many snake and other critters, but I never enjoy seeing a snake! Jason disposed of him (sorry snake lovers, but we weren't sure what kind it was and we didn't want to risk him making his way back into the house). Here are a few pictures!!

New toys...

The girls are super excited to have a new playset and trampoline at the new house. Jason and his dad worked so hard to get them both set up. The girls run straight to them when we are at the new house. I just hope they stay this fired up about them!

Nolan

Just an update....Nolan is still doing great. He is as cute as ever. He is a chunkster boy weighing a little over 15 lbs! He is spoiled rotten and won't really sit by himself for longer than 5-10 minutes. The girls are forever entertaining him. He hates tummy time, and I give in and never make him do it....so he probably won't roll over for a while. He is beyond loved. He is getting talked to, kissed on, hugged on, being held, or entertained just about every minute of every day. He is our prince, our Bubs, our spitty boy, our Nolan Keith!
